 Lyle Adams is NCAA National Champion...

 
Central Florida United Soccer Club alum Lyle Adams has helped Wake Forest University to the NCAA Division I Championship.  The Final Four, now known as the Mens College Cup, was played this past weekend with all games being shown LIVE on the ESPN Networks.  The #2 Seeded Demon Deacons defeated ACC foe Virginia Tech  2-0 in the first of two semi-final matches played Friday and then defeated Ohio State 2-1 on Sunday to secure the title.  Lyle appeared in all 26 matches this season and has solidified a defensive unit that conceded only 14 goals.  He has also helped in the attack as well by recording four goals and two assists.  Great Job, CFU is Proud of You!!!

Dennis Chin Earns All-Conference Honors...

Rollins College Junior forward Dennis Chin recently earned a spot on the All-Sunshine State Conference team, it was announced by SSC Commissioner Michael J. Marcil.  Dennis, a graduate of Oviedo High School and a Central Florida United Soccer Club alum, earned second team All-SSC honors while playing through injury during most of the season.  He was second on the team with seven goals while also recording three assists for a total of seventeen points.  Well Done Chinny!!!

Dustin McCarty Receives CUSA Honor...

 

University of Central Florida standout Dustin McCarty was selected to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team earlier this week.  Dustin, who played six seasons with CFU Soccer Club, started 15 of 17 matches during his first campaign with the Knights. Playing mostly in a defensive role, Dustin tied for fifth on the team with three points off a goal and an assist while racking up 22 shots.  He registered his first collegiate point on an assist against crosstown rival Stetson on September 12th, then scored an unassisted goal at Memphis two days later.  Congratulations!!!

Players Shine at Rollins College...

 
Five former Central Florida United Soccer players are helping the local Rollins College Men’s Soccer Program defend its Sunshine State Conference Title which they won in 2006.  The players are Dennis Chin, Zach Walker, Carlos Lozano, Stephen Wright & Ryan Maleknia - each of whom are making significant contributions to this year’s squad.  The Tars are currently 9-4-2 Overall and are 5-1-1 in Conference action.  Make your plans now to catch a home game and cheer on these wonderful, home-grown players!

Lyle Adams leads the Top Ranked Demon Deacons...
 

Former Central Florida United standout Lyle Adams is ancoring the defense at Wake Forest University which is currently undefeated (6-0-0) and ranked #1 in the latest NSCAA National Poll.  CFU Director of Coaches Ray Sandidge, who coached Lyle in both club and at Winter Park High School, stated "Lyle took his natural athletic gift and combined it with his tremendous work ethic to develop into one of the best defenders in collegiate soccer.  His desire and continued hard work will enable him to move onto the next level, possibly a professional stint with a Major League Soccer organization."  The club would like to wish Lyle all the best as the Demon Deacons battle through the tough Atlantic Coast Conference play on the way to the NCAA Tournament in December.

CFU Players Starring at UCF College Tournament...
 
 
Central Florida United Soccer Club will be well represented this weekend at the University of Central Florida Fall Classic being held at the UCF Soccer Complex.  Starring for the hometown UCF Knights will be defender Kyle Pascioni and midfielder Dustin McCarty, each player has started five games for the Knights who bring a 2-3-1 record into the tournament.  The other CFU player is College of Charleston midfielder Justin Fojo who has also started five games for the undefeated (8-0-1) Cougars.  Other teams playing in the tournament are Stetson University (2-2-0) from Deland, FL and Wofford University (2-2-1) from Spartanburg, SC.
